Below are the equipment requirements for the Recreational (Essentials, Rec 1, Rec 2 and Rec 3) curriculum and the Technical & Overhead (Intro to Tech, Tech 1, Tech 2, Tech 2 2 Bottle Endorsement and Overhead Protocols) curriculum.

Equipment brand is not a concern so long as it is in safe operating condition.

Rentals are available for most items, if needed.

RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Essentials & Rec 1 Equipment Requirements
  • Blade or Jet style fins - No split fins
  • Regulator set consisting of:
- 5-7' longhose primary regulator
- 22" necklace/backup regulator hose
 - 24" hp/spg hose
 - lpi hose of appropriate length for the wing's corrugated hose
  • 1 primary mask
  • 1 exposure suit
  • 1 bottom timer
  • 1 compass
  • 1 surface marker buoy (smb), pre-rigged with 100' spool
Rec 2 & Rec 3 Equipment Requirements
  • SS or aluminum backplate w/ single piece 2" webbing harness & hardware
  • Back inflate style wing - no bungeed wings, no dual inflators
  • Single cylinder of at least 80cuft
  • Regulator set consisting of:
- 5-7' longhose primary regulator
- 22" necklace/backup regulator hose
 - 24" hp/spg hose
 - lpi hose of appropriate length for the wing's corrugated hose
  • Blade or Jet style fins - No split fins
  • 1 primary light, HID or LED preferred 
  • 1 backup light 
  • 1 primary mask
  • 1 backup mask
  • 1 bottom timer
  • 1 compass
  • 1 exposure suit
  • Rec 3 - 1 separate drysuit inflation system

  • 1 100' spool

TECHNICAL & OVERHEAD EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Intro to Tech Equipment Requirements
  • SS or aluminum backplate with single piece 2" webbing harness and hardware
  • 1 back inflate style wing (no bungeed wings, no dual inflators)
  • 1 set of doubles cylinders with isolation manifold, DIN valves
  • Regulator set consisting of 2 first stages and:
- 7' longhose regulator
- 22-24" backup/necklace regulator hose
 - 24-26" hp/spg hose
 - lpi inflator appropriate to the wing's corrugated hose
  • 1 al40 deco bottle w/ deco reg - 36" (swivel turret) or 40" (non-swivel turret) regulator hose 6" hp/spg hose
  • 1 canister style HID or LED primary light
  • At least 1 backup light (2 preferred)
  • Primary mask
  • 1 pair blade or jet style fins with spring straps - no split fins
  • Drysuit with 1 pocket on each thigh
  • 1 compass
  • 1 depth gauge/bottom timer
  • 1 Wet notes
  • 1 surface marker buoy (smb), pre-rigged with 100' spool
  • 1 cutting device
Tech 1 Equipment Requirements
