Vis in the lake yesterday wasn't as good as it has been the past few weeks, but we still had a great dive on the bomber.
Jeanna, Joe, Mattley, Lundy, Chris Borgen, Eric Forman and I scootered to the bomber yesterday (6/18/10).
Mattley and I, and Richard and Jeana dived it Sunday, off boats, and the vis was amazing.
Vis was kinda cloudy, but it was still a great dive.
The P4Y sank on August 26, 1956 just after takeoff from Sandpoint Naval Air Station, Seattle. It lies in 150ffw in Lake Washington.
Sunday was the first time I dived it in over 3 years and I forgot what an impressive wreck it is. It is an enormous plane, with the captain's and co-pilot's chairs waiting for the crew to return, the instrument panel still intact, the landing gear down (the wheels/tires are HUGE), the nose gunner's turret looks like it could still fight off enemy fighters.
This video has a bit of footage from Jeanna's dive with Richard on Sunday, as well as our dive yesterday.
